Safer Moving And Handling with IHSPatient Handling Training

IHS's Manual Handling Courses & Patient Handling Courses are aimed at meeting the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 (& subsequent amendments) that apply to Moving and Handling in the workplace. IHS also runs regular Manual Handling / Patient Handling Instructor Training courses - ideal for companies/nursing homes/hospitals who require their own in-house Manual Handling Instructor and Assessor

Back injuries are becoming increasingly common in industry. Many of these injuries are as a result of repeated incorrect handling techniques and therefore can be easily prevented. Each organisation has a legal responsibility in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 1989 to ensure a systematic approach to the assessment of moving and handling and control of risks. The recommendation is that each employee is provided with a moving and handling course and that this is updated on an annual basis.

Courses are customised for the particular workplace involved.

For Nursing Homes:
Our personnel are all qualified experienced nurses as well as being certified moving and handling instructors and are familiar with the types of situations encountered in your organisation.

For Industry:
Our instructors are fully qualified and will tailor the instruction to the environment. Courses can be run on the customer's premises or in our training rooms.
