First Aid At Sea Training
IHS's
Basic First Aid At Sea Course is aimed at meeting the minimum training requirements of the
Irish Sailing Association that apply to First-Aiders at sea. Courses can be run on-site, or candidates can come in to one
of our public courses.

Basic First Aid At Sea deals with all major emergencies you're likely to encounter at sea; bleeding and shock, breathing difficulties, hypothermia, burns and fractures, head injuries, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency procedures. Certification is valid for 2 years.
The course is designed to fulfil the criteria for First Aiders at sea and as such the content is pitched at lay personnel with no previous medical knowledge. If the customer would like to supplement this then this is also possible. The Instructors are qualified Occupational First Aid Instructors on the National Register, and are also qualified Basic Life Support & CPR Instructors with the Irish Heart Foundation and also hold ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
