Systems
IHS is a multidisciplinary company, which integrates expertise from the
fields of medicine, veterinary medicine, engineering and Information
Technology.
Our Mission Statement: "Improving healthcare through the
intelligent use of technology".
IHS employs highly qualified personnel from the medical, engineering
and IT sectors to act as its consultants, ensuring a level of
professionalism demanded by our clients.
The directors of IHS are Michael O'Shea and Alison Clancy.
Michael O'Shea MVB BE MRCVS
Michael is the Managing Director of IHS. Qualified both as a veterinary
surgeon and an engineer, Michael has particular interest and expertise in
biomedical engineering. His research interests include frequency domain
analysis of HRV in humans and equines as well as investigating
applications of technology to clinical practice. Michael has over 15 years
of clinical practice experience as well as experience in the technology
industry and has also acted as a part-time lecturer in the School of
Engineering, DIT Kevin Street over the past number of years. Michael is
also a qualified BLS/CPR Instructor and is ACLS & PALS certified with the Irish
Heart Foundation, and a qualified Occupational First Aid instructor on the
register of the National Ambulance Training School.
Alison Clancy RGN BNS RNT MSc HDNS(diabetes) PG Dip
Alison is a registered Nurse Tutor and university lecturer and holds a
Master's Degree in Education from UCD. She is currently undertaking
a PhD in the area of Problem based learning and her other research
interests include sexuality and nursing and diabetes care and management.
Alison is involved in both consultancy and training projects at IHS as
well as course development. Alison also acts as a training consultant and
instructor in patient handling.
